Go to inventory section in the branch to define an item and its variants.
Note: Once an item and its variants are defined, it shall be available for all the branches within the account. Only the quantity is branch specific.
1. Click on 'Create Item'
2. Input Item details and its variants. An Item can be a whole product itself or its spare part.
Let us look at the below example to understand in more details.
Example 1: Whole product
Item Name: Apple iPhone 6S
Variant Name 1: Apple iPhone 6S 64GB Gold
Variant Name 2: Apple iPhone 6S 64GB Silver
Variant Name 3: Apple iPhone 6S 128GB Silver
Example 2: Spare part
Item Name: Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 Home Button
Model: A3 2016
Variant Name 1: Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 Home Button black
Variant Name 2: Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 Home Button white
Note: Only the variant name shall be shown in the invoice printout. Hence, it is suggested to maintain in full name for variants as shown in examples.
Input in-hand stocks in 'initial stock' field. Re-order level is the minimum stock you would like to maintain for the variant. Provide its buying price and selling price along with applicable tax class for the variant.
3. ‘Create’ and confirm. Voila, you have successfully created an Item and its Variants. The initial stock shall be added to the first batch of the variant called 'Batch 1'
